Frank P. Hemrich

Frank P. Hemrich, 91, of 820 N. Monroe died Saturday August 10, 1988 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital of natural causes.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mason City with the Reverend Joseph J. Slepicka officiating. Burial was in Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.

He was born on April 6, 1897, at Boos Station, Jasper County, Illinois, a son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Fingerhut) Hemrich.

He was married to Gladys LaMaster on April 14, 1925, at Osage. They lived in Osage and Charles City before moving to Nora Springs in 1936 where he was the ice man for many years. He was also employed by the Nora Springs Creamery.

In 1958 they moved to Mason City where he worked at First National Bank until 1965. He retired for one year and then worked at the Mason City Country Club until 1973 when he retired.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Lorraine Swenson, mason City; and two grandsons, Scott R. Swenson and Daniel R. Swenson, both of Mason City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, who died in 1972.
