Paulyn Ruechel

Funeral services for Paulyn Ruechel, 63, who died Sunday, July 25 at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center, were held July 27, 1994 at First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiating.

Paulyn Ruechel was born on August 22, 1930, the daughter of Paul and Antoinette (Shaw) Simons in Ells, Iowa. She graduated from Dow City High School

She contributed generously to the community with her musical talent. She taught piano for over 40 years, in addition to playing and writing professionally. She married Wayne Ruechel February 29, 1964 in St. Ansgar.

Paulyn was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Wayne.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin of Altoona, Wisconsin, and Philip of Shakeopee, Minnesota; one step-son, Allen Ruechel, Clearwater, Florida; one step-daughter, Suzette Blakestad, Shelbe; one brother, Norman Simons, Newell; one sister, Marie Cue of Webster City; four grandchildren and six step-grandchildren; and a mother-in-law, Josephine Ruechel, St. Ansgar.

Burial was in the First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.
