OSAGE, IOWA - Roscoe F. Krahenbuhl, 80, of Hansell, formerly of Osage, died Sunday (Sept. 15, 1996) at the Riverside Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the First Baptist Church in Osage. There will be no visitation. The body was cremated. The Champion Funeral Home of Osage is in charge of arrangements.
Roscoe was born Nov. 14, 1915, in West Brooklyn, Illinois, the son of Fred and Margaret (Kehm) Krahenbuhl. He attended school in St. Ansgar and graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1933.
He married Mary Ann Michels on Dec. 15, 1935. They were the parents of four sons: Lynn, Larry, Russell and Fred Krahenbuhl. Mary Ann passed away May 4, 1946. He then married Mabel Torney on Jan. 1, 1947. They are the parents of four boys and two girls: Allan, Martin, Charles, Crystal, Roscoe J. and Cindy.
He lived in Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Arkansas. While living in these states, he was a farmer, truck driver and a carpenter and was a resort caretaker in Minnesota. He was a service station operator in Plymouth and was a school bus driver for North Central Schools in Manly. He was a member of the Lions Club in Plymouth.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel Krahenbuhl of Hansell; two daughters, Crystal Crosby, and her husband, David, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Cindy Vimpany, and her husband, Douglas, of Camarillo, Calif.; eight sons, Lynn Krahenbuhl of New Haven; Larry Krahenbuhl, and wife, Gladys, of Osage; Russell Krahenbuhl, and wife, Barbara, of Osage; Fred Krahenbuhl of Wisconsin; Allan Krahenbuhl of Northwood; Martin Krahenbuhl of Elma; Charles Krahenbuhl, and wife, Carol, of Colfax, Wash., and Roscoe J. Krahenbuhl, and wife, Vickie, of Mason City; one sister, Elvira Wirth of Elm Grove, Wis.; 30 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Mary Ann; one granddaughter, Gina; and one grandson, Martin Jr.
