Suzanne Jo Ziegler Powers
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 30, 2001 at St. Ansgar Catholic Church, St. Ansgar, Iowa, for Suzanne Jo Powers, age 59, of St. Ansgar. Father Schneider officiated, and burial was in the St. Ansgar Cemetery. She died Saturday, October 27, 2001 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota.
Suzanne Jo Ziegler, the daughter of Cyril (Babe) and Eleanor Ziegler Tracy, was born Jan. 4, 1942 at Mason City, Iowa. She attended St. Ansgar Schools. At the time of her death she was employed at Wallace Computer Service in Osage.
Suzanne was united in marriage to Clifford Powers on Nov. 28, 1959 at St. Ansgar Catholic Church in St. Ansgar. They became parents of four sons, Eric, Greg, Troy and Mike.
She was an avid sports fan. She especially loved watching her children and grandchildren participate in sports as well as watching the Hawkeyes, Twins and Vikings. Her weekends were often spent playing Bingo with her mother.
She was a devoted wife and mother and a proud grandmother of thirteen grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed time with her family.
Preceding her in death was her father; maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Clifford; her mother Eleanor; four sons, Eric and wife Deb, Gregory and his wife Annette, Troy and wife Sandy and Michael and wife Ann all of St. Ansgar; thirteen grandchildren, Brian, Bridget, Brooke, Megan, Andrew, Darren, Derrick and his wife, Amy, Damon, Darcy, Ben, Abbey, Alyssa and Aaron Powers. Sue leaves two brothers, Dennis Ziegler and his wife Veronica of Eagle River, Alaska, Steve Ziegler and his wife, Candy of Anchorage, Alaska and numerous family and friends.
