MRS. ERNEST JOHN GILLES

OSAGE, IOWA -- Mrs. E.J. Gilles, 58, died at her home here Thursday night after an illness of eight months.

Born August 29, 1883, in New Haven, Iowa, she was married 36 years ago. Except for several years spent in California, she had lived here all her life.

Surviving are four sons, Gerald and Vernon of Osage, Dean of Cedar Rapids and Dale of San Diego, California; six brothers: Matt Meyers of Woolverton, Minnesota, Steve of Charles City and Pete, Joe, Will and John, all of New Haven, five sisters: Mrs. Hugh Murray of Nora Springs, Mrs. Frank Engles, Mrs. Howard Morse of Charles City and Mrs. Mary Rivers and Mrs. John Kirst, both of New Haven.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete Friday.

Her full name is Helena (Meyer) Gilles.

According to their gravestone at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage:

His name was Ernie J. Gilles (1886-1966)

His wife was Lena M. Gilles (1884-1942).
