ST. ANSGAR, IOWA -- Wilmer J. "Buddy" Heimer, of St. Ansgar, passed away on January 9, 1995**.

Wilmer was born on July 22, 1924**, the son of Arthur (Art) and Martha Heimer of Stacyville, Iowa.

Buddy served in the Army Air Corps. during World War II, and following a 30 day furlough from Fort Lewis, Washington, Pfc. Heimer re-enlisted*, reporting to Fort Snelling, Minnesota in December 1945.

He married Agnes (nee Trench) Kline of St. Ansgar, on December 2, 1967. At the time of their marriage he was employed at a locker firm at Adams, Minnesota, while also being engaged in farming at Stacyville. He was later employed by St. Ansgar Locker.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes, and a number of relatives and step-children.

Interment is at the St Ansgar City Cemetery.

Funeral services for Wilmer Joseph "Buddy" Heimer, 70, of St. Ansgar, who died January 9, 1995, were held January 13, 1995, at the Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, with Rev. P. Otting officiating.

Buddy was born July 22, 1924, the son of Art and Martha (Mayer) Heimer in rural Stacyville. He lived on the family farm in the Stacyville area and attended Stacyville Visitation School.

He served in the U.S. Army then returned to the area where he operated the family farm. He also did carpentry work and was a meat cutter. In later years he became a full time meat cutter, handled catering services for group functions and enjoyed cooking as a hobby.

Buddy was a member of the Walter E. Enneberg Post 358 of the American Legion, St. Ansgar. He was a long term member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, and of the Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville.

Buddy married agnes Kline on December 2, 1967. Through this marriage he became the step father of eight children, 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes, St. Ansgar; three step sons, Jack Kline, London, Minnesota, James and Jerry Kline, St. Ansgar; five step daughters, Diane Zuehl of Racine, Wisconsin, Nancy Salisbury, Rudd, Janet Bruesewitz, Rochester, Minnesota, Sonja Yahnke, Allen, Texas, and Linda Currens, Thousand Oaks, California; one brother, Charlie Heimer, Stacyville; one sister, Irene Thome, Stacyville; 21 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ralph and La Verne.

Burial was in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.
