ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Funeral services for Chris Olsen will be Tuesday at the First Lutheran Church. Burial will be in St. Ansgar Cemetery.

He died Friday evening at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.

Born in Norway, he came here as a child and had farmed in Mitchell County most of his life.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Gladys) Ketelson and Miss Gail Olsen, both of Osage; a son, Carman Olsen, Lyle Minnesota; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

OLSEN, Kristian (Chris) 1875-1964

Funeral services for Chris Olsen, 89, who died at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, February 28, 1964, were held March 3 at First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar with the Rev. Don Comnick officating. Burial was in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.

Kristian Olsen was born November 30, 1875, in Hordalen, Norway. He was baptized and attended school in Norway. At the age of twelve years he accompanied his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Rustad to America. They settled two miles west of St. Ansgar and he made his home with them. On Octoer 6, 1889 he was confirmed by Pastor Johan Olsen at First Lutheran, St. Ansgar.

On December 28, 1905, he was united in marriage to Clara Anderson. Mr. Olsen was a farmer his entire life. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Ketelson and Gail both of Osage and one son, Garmen of Lyle, Minn. Also eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, an infant son, Gerald, his son, Glenn, who died last summer, three grandsons and an infant great granddaughter.
