ST. ANSGAR -- Martin A. Christensen, 97, died Wednesday at his home here. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Carl T. Wuerffel will officiate. Burial will be in the city cemetery with Schroeder and Houg Funeral Home in charge.
He was the last of the Spanish American War Veterans. He was a foreman of Mitchell County road construction crews for many years.
Surviving are two daughters, Etta Christensen, with whom he lived; Mrs. A.R. (Jeanette) Medaris, Backus, Minnesota; a son, Gordon, Janesville, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Dagmar Enneberg, St. Ansgar; Mrs. Loretta Toothill, San Diego.

#2:ST. ANSGAR—Funeral services for Martin A. Christensen, 97, will be Saturday at 2 p. m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church; died Wednesday at his home in St. Ansgar. He was one of the last veterans of the Spanish-American War and was foreman for Mitchell County road building for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Etta Chritensen, with who he made his home; Mrs. Ar. R. Madaris of Backus, Minnesota; one son, Gordon Christensen, Janesville, Wisconsin; three grandchildren and two sisters.
Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery. Schroeder and Houg in charge of arrangements.
