Arleigh Paul Geffert, 69, of Rogers, Arkansas, formerly of St. Ansgar, Iowa, died Saturday, February 12, 2000, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday [Feb. 16, 2000] at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Toeterville, Iowa, with Pastor Daniel Day Wee officiating. Burial is in the St. Peter cemetery in Toeterville. Visitation was held at the Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:30.

Arleigh was born on May 7, 1930 to Albert and Selma (Will) Geffert at Toeterville, Iowa. He was born, raised, and lived east of Toeterville. He served with the U.S. Army in Germany.

On June 12, 1954 he married Bonna Lou (Bonnie) Yocom at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, Minnesota. They lived on the family farm until 1989, when they moved to Rogers, Arkansas. Arleigh also worked at the Toeterville Elevator for 16 years. He loved horses, airplanes, farming, fishing, being outdoors and bowling.

Arleigh is survived by his wife, Bonnie, at home in Rogers, Arkansas; two daughters, Shelly Allison and special friend, Jeffrey Buseman, of Mason City; and Vickie, and her husband, Gary Miller, of Centerton, Arkansas; foster daughter, Peggy Phillips, of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota; two sons, Terry Geffert of St. Ansgar, and Brian Geffert of Lockport, New York; his mother, Selma Geffert, St. Ansgar; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert; one sister, Paula; a grandson, Nathan; and a son-in-law, John Bierbrodt.

Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar was in charge of arrangements.

ROGERS, Ark. - Arleigh Paul Geffert, 69, of Rogers, Ark., formerly of St. Ansgar, died Saturday (Feb. 12, 2000) at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Toeterville. Graveside services will follow in Toeterville.

Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, 207 S. School St., St. Ansgar.
