OSAGE, IOWA - Robert "Bob" Patten, age 75, of Osage, died Monday (May 11, 2009) at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage with the Rev. Dennis Hanson and the Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City with military honors at the grave by Osage American Legion Post 278. There will be a time for lunch and fellowship following services at the church.

Bob was born Nov. 12, 1933, in Charles City, the son of Charles and Florence (Ersing) Patten. He graduated from Charles City High School and then served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years.

On July 30, 1955, he married Joanne Knowlton at Red Oak Grove, Minn. They moved to Osage in 1972. Bob worked at Mills Motors, Moorman Feed, and C-Mart gas station. He loved working on lawn mowers and small engines, fishing, and going to races.

Bob is survived by his wife, Joanne Patten of Osage; a daughter, Debra (Jerry) Watson of Osage; a son, Kevin (Shelley) Patten of Wichita, Kan.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six sisters, Jean Viegel of Boise, Idaho, Betty Patten of Lodi, Calif., Ruth Demro of Nashua, Mary Fischer of Nashua, Janice Munson of Charles City, and Kathryn Kraut of Richland Hills, Texas, two brothers, Wendell Patten of Charles City, and Kenneth Patten of South St. Paul, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Patty Jennings and Joan Patten.
