MRS. MINA NELSON, 84, MONA RESIDENT DIED
Funeral services for a lifelong resident, Mrs. Mina Nelson, 84, were held March 25 at Mona Lutheran church. The Rev. Stanley Klemesrud, church pastor was in charge and burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona.
(March 22, 1966)
Mrs. Nelson died March 22 at Memorial hospital in Osage following a six weeks illness.
Mina Otilda Larson, daughter of John and Martha Larson, was born Dec. 13, 1881 in Otranto township near Mona. She was baptized and confirmed at Mona Lutheran church where she was a lifelong member. She was also active in the Ladies Aid. She received her education in the Mona public school.
Sept. 17, 1901, she was married to Peter Nelson at the Mona church. They established their home on a farm within a half-mile of each of their birth-places and here both remained until the time of death. Mrs. Nelson had been in failing health for a number of years.
She is survived by a daughter, Helen Nelson, who made her home with her mother at Mona; one sister Mrs. Newton Bigelow of Albert Lea; six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents, her husband, Peter, two daughters, Mrs. Adolph Jahr and Mrs. Rudolph Haugland; two sons, Harlis and Willis; four brothers and two sisters.
