ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Irene Boettcher, 79, of St. Ansgar, died Wednesday (April 23, 1997) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Robert Porisch officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Rock Township.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.

Irene [Irma Ella] Boettcher was born on November 14, 1917, in Newburg Township, Mitchell County, [to Robert Carl and Caroline Anna [Dieterichs] Rosenberg].

Survivors include her husband, Harvey of St. Ansgar; one sister, Allene Halvorson of St. Ansgar; and one brother, Elmer Rosenberg of Grafton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.

Held April 26

Funeral services for Irene Irma Louella Boettcher, 79, who died April 23, 1997 at her home, were held ar First Lutheran Church here with the Reverend Robert Porisch officiating.

Irene Irma Louella Boettcher, daughter of Robert C. and Lena Dieterich Rosenberg, was born November 14, 1917 in Newburg Township, Mitchell County, Iowa. She was baptized December 16, 1917 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rock Township, by Reverend Reineke with Anna Dieterich, William Nack and Wilhelmina Rosenberg as her sponsors.

Irene married Harvey Boettcher of Grafton October 8, 1939 at St. John’s Church. They farmed in the Grafton and St. Ansgar areas until 1977, when they retired to St. Ansgar. Irene was a member of Martha Circle of First Lutheran Church. Her big enjoyment was gardening and flowers.

Irene is survived by her husband harven, St. Ansgar; a brother Elmer Rosenberg of Grafton; a sister Allene Halvorson, St. Ansgar; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Rueben, Alvin, Lawrence and Roy.

Burial was in St. John’s Cemetery, Rock Township.
