NEW HAVEN, IOWA - Leonard Johanns, 56, of rural New Haven, died Wednesday (Feb. 5, 1997) at University Hospitals, Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2:30 to 9 p.m. today at Champion Funeral Home, with a rosary at 3 p.m. and a wake service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Leonard Johanns was born June 2, 1940, in New Haven, Mitchell county, Iowa.
Survivors include his parents, Paul and Elizabeth Johanns of Osage; his wife, Bonnie Johanns of New Haven; two sons, Tim Johanns of Osage, and Terry Johanns of New Haven; five sisters, Angeline Nolda and Theresa Tinkey, both of Lamont; Mary Miller of Keystone; Rita Hanke of Osage, and Rose Decklever of Rochester, Minn.; six brothers, Bob Johanns of Strawberry Point; Larry Johanns of St. Paul, Minn.; Leo Johanns of Cedar Rapids; Paul Johanns Jr. of Marion; David Johanns of Osage, and Joe Johanns of Austin, Minn.; and four grandchildren.
