OSAGE, IOWA - Marion D. Young, 81, died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, south of Osage, with the Rev. Christian F. Gugel officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, and will continue one hour before the services at the church Friday.

Marion Dwight Young was born September 8, 1920 at Waukee, Dallas, Iowa to Gladys Thompson and Dwight Young, the oldest of three children.

Found in the 1925, 1930 censuses at New Hampton, Chickasaw, Iowa:
1925: IA Young 28, Gladys Young 25, Warion Young 4, Virginia Lee Young 1, Merle Thampson 23.

1930: Dwight Young 32, Gladys Young 30, Marion Young 9, Virgina Young 6, Charles Young 2 yrs, 8 mos.

Found in the 1940 census at Waurika, Jefferson, Oklahoma: D. A. Young 45 widowed, Marion Young 19.

Marion married Mildred Lillian Schroeder on July 24, 1943 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at St. Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.

The couple had five children: Judith Ann, John Alan, Robert Charles, James Marion and Helen Pauline.

Marion died March 5, 2002 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at Liberty Cemetery, Little Cedar, Mitchell County, Iowa.
