Funeral services for M. Charlotte Marcusson, 99, of St. Ansgar, who died February 25, 2003, at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center, will be held on Saturday, March 1 at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Porisch officiating Visitation will be Friday, February 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home.
Charlotte was born on September 30, 1903 in Barton Township, Worth County, to Julius and Martha (Ringhand) Johnson. She was baptized on September 30, 1903 and confirmed in 1914 at the Mona Lutheran Church, Mona.
She married Peter Marcusson on June 18, 1926 in Owatonna, Minnesota. She lived on the Marcusson family farm near Toeterville until the age of 92 when she entered the Good Samaritan Center on November 28, 1998. She was a member of First Lutheran Church here. She liked to sew, quilt and bake cookies.
Charlotte is survived by a daughter, Gladys (Russell) Sampson, St. Ansgar, three grandchildren, Gerald (Diane) Sampson of Lyle, Minnesota; Jim (Pam) Sampson of Lyle; Debra (Timm) Ehret of Rose Creek, Minnesota; eight great grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Agnes DeMaris of Riceville and Esther Everson of Lyle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Nellie Helfritz and Alice Austinson; an infant twin sister, five brothers, Oscar, Emil, Maynard and two infants.
Burial will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery.
