Norval Jensen

Funeral services for Norval C. Jensen, 90, of Osage, who died on Sunday, June 15, 2003 at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center, will be held on Thursday, June 19 at 2 p.m. at our Savior's Lutheran Church, Osage, with Rev. Dennis Hanson and Rev. Roy Ott officiating.

Norval Jensen was born March 26, 1913 on the family farm near St. Ansgar, the son of Bert and Matie (Hansen) Jensen. He graduated from St. Ansgar High School. Norval farmed on the family farm. He was well known for the strawberries they raised. He was a crop duster, and was employed as an auto mechanic at Jorde Motors in Osage.

He married Erena Dettmann in 1941 and to this union four children were born: Russell, Marvin, Dolores, and Joanne. Erena died in 1970. He was united in marriage to Thelma Birum in 1981. In 1986 they moved to Osage. Thelma died in 2000.

Norval is survived by two sons, Russell Jensen of St. Ansgar; Marvin Jensen (Kathryn) of Penland, North Carolina; two daughters, Dolores Petrak (Gary) of Minburn, Iowa; Joanne Kleinwort (Edward) of St. Ansgar; a brother Harlan Jensen (Naomi) of Fort Worth, Texas; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, a sister Avis Loffgreen, and a grandson, Harley Jensen.

Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery in Osage.
