LEROY, MINNESOTA — Helen Timmerman, 80, of LeRoy, Minn., passed away on Friday (Sept. 9, 2005) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville, Iowa, with Pastor Thelma Colorado Subramanian officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville.
Helen was born on October 21, 1924, the daughter of Harvey and Althea Bonwell Van De Walker, in McIntire, Iowa. She graduated from McIntire High School in 1942. Helen married Robert Timmerman on Aug. 2, 1944 in LeRoy, Minn. She worked 35 years for LeRoy Products, mostly as plant manager. Helen loved golf, fishing and dancing.
Survivors include her husband, Bob, of LeRoy, Minn.; one son, Gene Timmerman and his wife, Darlene, of Mason City; one daughter, Janet and her husband, Greg Holmes, of Detroit Lakes, Minn.; three grandchildren: Troy, Scott and Jennifer; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Grimley and her husband, Glenn, of Oelwein, Iowa; and a brother, Keith Van De Walker, and his wife, Dorothy, of Oelwein, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Arla Richardson; and two brothers, Earl and Bud; and one infant grandson, Todd.
