Mrs. Mary Mangrich

Mrs. Mary Mangrich whose maiden name was Mary Dostart was born Oct. 13, 1850 in Germany and passed away in the home of her Daughter Mrs. Mary Tireman in David Oct. 23, 1920 aged 70 years and 10 days. At three years of age she came to America with her parents and settled at Roxberry (Roxbury) Wis. Where she lived 16 years. Nov. 23 1869 she was united in marriage with Peter Mangrich. Three years later they moved to New Haven Iowa where they lived eighteen years. The remainder of her life was spent at Charles City.

To Mr. And Mrs. Mangrich were born nine children, three of whom died in infancy, the remaining six who are left to mourn their loss are: Mrs Mary Tireman, David, Pete J. Mangrich, Milwaukee Wis., Frank B. Of Chicago, Catherine B. Farnham of Rockford Iowa, Lizzie M. Pfeiffer and Suzie E. Tubbs of Charles City.

She is survived by one brother, Pete Dostart of New Haven, and one sister, Lizzie of South Dakota. She leaves eleven Grand children and six Great Grand children. The funeral was held Monday morning at David Rev. Cannon of Staceyville and Rev. Gibson of Little Cedar having charge after which the remains were taken to Charles City to the home of her daughter where a funeral service was conducted by Rev. G.A.Hess of the First Christian Church and the remains were laid to rest in the beautiful Riverside Cemetery Mrs. Mangrich was a woman held in high esteem by all who knew her and her passing so suddenly enshrouds all with gloom. A host of friends join in extending the bereaved family their sympathy as evidenced in the beautiful floral offerings.
