Dr. Robert H. Koschmeder

GRAFTON, IOWA — Dr. Robert H. Koschmeder, 77, of Grafton, died Sunday (July 24, 2005) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.

Robert was born Dec. 12, 1927, at Mitchell, the son of Henry and Louise (Darius) Koschmeder. He graduated from Riceville High School in 1946, and then served two years in the U.S. Navy. Robert married Carol Fieldman on June 13, 1954, at Perry, Iowa.

He graduated from Iowa State University in 1956 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.

He and Carol lived in Grafton, Iowa, where he practiced veterinary medicine for more than 49 years.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton with the Rev. Wayne Ellingson officiating. Burial will be in the Grafton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage and will continue one hour before services on Thursday at the church.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Koschmeder of Grafton; one daughter, Linda Dagostino and husband, Rick McBride, of Grafton; two sons, Curtis Koschmeder and his wife Teresa of Lawrenceburg, Ind., and Kevin Koschmeder and his wife, Sarah, of St. Croix Falls, Wis.; one sister, Marian Weldin of Williams, Iowa; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents; three brothers, and one sister.
