CARPENTER, IOWA — Harvey Ray Anderson, 90, of Carpenter died on Monday (July 4, 2005) at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Deer Creek Lutheran Church in Carpenter, with the Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Burial will be in the Deer Creek Cemetery.

Vistation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar.

Harvey Ray Anderson

CARPENTER, IOWA — Harvey Ray Anderson, age 90, of Carpenter died on Monday, July 4, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar, Mitchell county, Iowa.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Deer Creek Lutheran Church in Carpenter with the Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Burial will be in Deer Creek Cemetery in Carpenter.

Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar.

Harvey was born on August 1, 1914, on a farm by Meltonville, Iowa, the son of William and Hattie (Carlsgaard) Anderson. Harvey attended school in Otranto, Iowa.

He was united in marriage to Veronica A. Wagner on Sept. 19, 1941, in Northwood, Iowa. Harvey lived most of his life in Carpenter. He was a truck driver all of his life; from hauling milk to his final job as hauling for L.R. Falk.

He enjoyed steam engines, going to the shows with steam engines, fishing and reading. Harvey got his greatest enjoyment looking at his wife's flower garden.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hattie Anderson; sisters, Lurene Anderson, Hazel Smith and Garnas Askerooth; brothers, Gaylord Anderson and Donald Anderson; brothers-in-law, Melvin Anderson, Lyle Askerooth and Harold Smith; niece, Phyllis (Nicholson) Mashaney; and nephew, David Smith.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Veronica, of Carpenter; sons, Gary Anderson of Westby, Wis., and Keith Anderson of Winona, Minn.; daughters, Ann Christensen and husband, Dennis, of Riceville, Marilyn Anderson of Carpenter and Patricia Anderson of Carpenter; five grandchildren: Kathy LaRue and husband, Dean, of Boone, Kevin Christensen and wife, Tracie, of Riceville, Lisa Turben and husband, Eric, of Viroqua, Wis., Brian Anderson, of Winona, Minn., and Sara Anderson, of Honolulu, Hawaii; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Ina (Anderson ) Gould; several nieces and nephews.
