RICEVILLE, IOWA — Betty Elizabeth Bodensteiner, 86, of rural Riceville, passed away Friday (May 20, 2005) at her home.
Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville, with Father Ray E. Atwood officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Riceville.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Lindstrom Funeral Home with a rosary at 4 p.m. and a scripture service at 5 p.m.
Betty was born on Nov. 12, 1918, in Slater, Iowa , daughter of Rollo and Merle (Hildreth) Petefish. She was united in marriage to Christopher Bodensteiner on Sept. 28, 1940, at St. Ambrose Cathedral in Des Moines.
Survivors include four sons, Chris S. and his wife, Michelle, of Loveland, Colo.; Thomas and his wife Donna of Clear Lake; Paul and his Fiancee, Jane Ray, of Kansas City, Kan.; and James and his wife, Deborah, of Washington, Iowa; four daughters: Mary and her husband, Leonard Laskowski, of Midland, Texas; Margaret and her husband, Jerry Gaia, of Arlington, Tenn.; Sara and her husband, William Hanlon, of Tulsa, Okla.; and Ann and her husband, Louis Blickenderfer, of Charles City; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Ray Petefish and his wife, Geri, of Ames, and Harold Petefish and his wife, Louise, of Dodge Center; and a sister, Joan Robobsky, of Marshalltown.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Christopher in 1997; and two brothers, John and Charles Petefish.
