OSAGE, IOWA — Ellen Lee Austin, 88, of Osage died Wednesday (March 30, 2005) at Faith Home in Osage.

Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2005, in the activity room at Faith Home, 914 Davidson Drive in Osage, with Denny Austin, elder for Jehovah's Witnesses, officiating.

Family and friends will gather at Faith Home immediately afterwards.

OSAGE, IOWA — Ellen Lee Austin, 88, of Osage, died Wednesday (March 30, 2005) at Faith Home in Osage.

Memorial services for Ellen Austin will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Faith Home at 914 Davidson Drive in Osage with Denny Austin, grandson of the deceased and minister of Jehovah's Witnesses, officiating. Friends and family will gather immediately afterwards.

Ellen Robertson was born on Nov. 12, 1916, to Lee and Mabel Robertson of Ames. She grew up in Ames and graduated from Boone High School in 1936. She went on to beauty school and practiced as a beautician for many years.

Ellen married James Austin on Feb. 9, 1968. Ellen and James lived in Oregon and later moved to Wisconsin where they had many happy years of farming together. After retiring, they moved to Iowa to be closer to family. Ellen loved fashion, decorating and gardening. Her favorite expression was, "I never met a stranger."

She is survived by her husband, James Austin, Osage; one sister, Marge Erickson, Florida; a stepson, Dennis (Cheri) Austin, six step-grandchildren, Denny (Rebekah) Austin, Sioux Falls, S.D., Nicole (Terry) Babcock, Rochester, Minn., Michelle (Jodi) Schwake, Humboldt, Heidi and Jeremy Burgardt, Greensboro, N.C., and Mark Burgardt, Elma; five step-great-grandchildren, Ceara and Silas Schwake, Humboldt; Dean, Brittany and Deanna Burgardt, Greensboro, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Mabel Robertson; her brother, Gayle; two sisters, Cleo and Laura; two step-sons, John and Gilbert Dean Burgardt and one step-greatgrandson, Zach Burgardt.
