Mary Louise Miller
NEW HAVEN, IOWA — Mary Louise Miller, age 86, of Rochester, Minn., and formerly of New Haven, Mitchell county, Iowa, passed away Monday, (Feb. 21, 2005) at Rochester Health and Rehabilitation.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev. Ray E. Atwood officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in New Haven. There will be visitation one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Mary was born Dec. 6, 1918, in New Haven, to Peter and Rose (Byrnes) Miller. She was educated at St. Mary's Academy in New Haven and received her normal training and teacher certification at the seminary in Osage. Mary taught school at Douglas No, 2 and Mt. Hope in the rural school system. She continued her education at the University of Minnesota while in Minneapolis. Mary lived in the Minneapolis and Rochester, Minn., areas for most of her life, where she was employed as a stenographer. She lived for a time with her sister, Agnes, in Mt. Vernon, Mo. Mary always felt a close attachment to her many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and family genealogy.
Survivors include her sister, Ruth (Miller) Sullivan and her husband, Don, of Waterloo; sister-in-law, Marguerite Miller of New Haven; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, John and Maurice Miller; her sister, Agnes Meirick
