EVELYN SCHOLL

OSAGE, IOWA — Evelyn Frances (Malek) Scholl, 90, of Osage, died Tuesday (Dec. 23, 2003) at the Riceville Community Rest Home.

Evelyn was born May 20, 1913, in Schley, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Barbara (Petska) Malek.

She married Walter C. Scholl on June 5, 1939, in Rockwell, Iowa. They were engaged in dairy farming in Cerro Gordo and Mitchell counties until they retired to Osage in 1974.

For the past three years, Evelyn received loving care at the Riceville Community Rest Home.

Funeral service will be 9 a.m. Saturday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, with the Rev. Mark Reasoner officiating. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rockwell.

Visitation is 4:30 to 8 p.m. today at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, where there will be a rosary at 4:45 p.m. and a Scriptural wake service at 7 p.m.

She is survived by two daughters, Darlene Karen (Scholl) Schaefer (Thomas) of McIntire, and Sandra Frances (Scholl) Foster (William) of Carrollton, Texas; three grandchildren, Sheila Marie (Schaefer) Flaherty (Thomas) of Adams, Minn., Renae Susan (Schaefer) Cody (Tim) of Stewartville, Minn., and Lawrence Dean Schaefer (Elizabeth) of Manassas, Va.; seven great-grandchildren, Sean Padraic Flaherty, Lila Rose Flaherty, Lindsey Rae Cody, Kati Jo Cody, Cory Robert Cody, Stephen Karl Schaefer, and Daniel Thomas Schaefer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Charles Scholl; two brothers, Rudolph Malek and Clarence Malek; two sisters, Helen Malek and Louise Malek.
