OSAGE, IOWA — Madelyn Meyer, 75, of Osage, died Monday (Oct. 25, 2004) at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
Madelyn was born Oct. 5, 1929, in Kendallville, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Lucille (McGee) Peterson.
She was united in marriage to Robert E. “Bob” Meyer on Nov. 29, 1947, in Austin, Minn. Bob and Madelyn farmed near New Haven until 1967.
They then lived in Reinbeck, Jewell, and Perry, Iowa. They moved to Morgan, Minn., in 1982, where they lived until retiring and moving to Osage.
Madelyn worked as a school secretary in the Morgan school system.
Her husband, Bob, died on Aug. 17, 2004.
Madelyn was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, and the Sacred Heart Ladies Guild. She also volunteered at Faith Nursing Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with the Rev. Mark Reasoner officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in New Haven.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage where there will be a rosary at 5 p.m. and a scripture wake service at 7 p.m.
She is survived by son, Don Meyer and wife, Kathy, of Vinton; son, Gary Meyer and wife, Michelle, of Perry; daughter, Diane Nekvinda of Brandon, S.D.; daughter, Sue Whiton and husband, Scott, of Perry; daughter, Kay Drake and husband, Mike, of Lincoln, Neb.; son, Mark Meyer and wife, Tammy, of Morgan, Minn.; son, Dennis Meyer and wife, Rhonda, of Morgan, Minn.; son, Dale Meyer, of Walker; son, Bobby Meyer, of Perry; grandchildren, Laura Bollin, Dan Meyer, Amanda Meyer, Michael Meyer, Zoe Meyer, Kris Nekvinda, Andrea Nekvinda, Erik Whiton, Michael Whiton, Jackie Drake, Michele Drake, Aaron Meyer, Jason Meyer, Ashley Meyer and Cole Embry-Meyer; great-grandchildren, Cody, Jessica, Kaitlyn, and Hunter; three sisters, Darlene (Dean) Michels of New Haven; Helen Michael of Burnsville, Minn.; Joyce (Jack) Perry, of Raleigh, N.C.; one brother, Bernard (Edelgard) Peterson of Rochester, Minn.
She was preceded by her parents, her husband, Robert Meyer in 2004
