RICEVILLE, IOWA — Doris Pearce, 94, of Riceville died Saturday (Aug. 28, 2004) at the Riceville Community Rest Home in Riceville.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ with the Rev. Gale Richards officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Riceville, [Mitchell county, Iowa].
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Lindstrom Funeral Home . . . . Lindstrom Funeral Home, (641) 985-2242.

Funeral services for Doris Pearce, age 94, of Riceville, Iowa, were held on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Riceville. The Rev. Gale Richards officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Riceville, Iowa.
Doris passed away at the Riceville Community Rest Home in Riceville on Aug. 28, 2004.
Doris L. Pearce was born in Randalia, Iowa, on Jan. 8, 1910, daughter of Emma Duby and Edward Mabb. She attended local schools and after graduating from high school, she was a switchboard operator in Hawkeye, Iowa.
Doris was united in marriage to Clifford Pearce on Oct. 21, 1931 in Galena, Illinois. She and her husband Clifford were long-time residents of Riceville and the owners and managers of the Farmer's Telephone Company and Cornbelt Telephone. She was active in community and church organizations.
Preceding Doris in death were her parents; her husband, Clifford, in 1985; and a son, Donald, in 1998; three brothers and five sisters.
Doris is survived by a son, Richard and his wife Carol of Grinnell, Iowa; a daughter, Diane Fischer of Deerwood, Minnesota; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and a sister, Edna Mabb of Waterloo, Iowa.
Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville was in charge of arrangements.
