OSAGE, IOWA — Charles Richard Engebretson, 79, of Osage, died on Saturday (July 3, 2004) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage with the Rev. Dennis Hanson officiating. Interment will be in the Osage Cemetery.

There will be visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, and one hour before services at the church on Thursday.

Charles was born on July 10, 1924, in Waverly the son of Ed and Alice (Richardson) Engebretson. He attended schools in St. Ansgar and Osage.

Charles was united in marriage to Donna Eastman on Nov. 5, 1948, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. During his life he was employed by Oliver in Charles City, drove semi for Rich Jahnel of New Haven and worked for John Deere in Osage for 25 years. Charles enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, mowing lawns, making things out of wood (lamps, shelves and napkin holders) and being outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, of Osage; three children, Linda Busse and her husband, Paul, of Good Thunder, Minn., Forrest Engebretson and his wife, MaLinda, of Mapleton, Minn., LaDonna Ogden and her husband, Dan, of Osage; seven grandchildren; Rosemary and James Busse; Charles, Joshua, Ryan and Kyle Engebretson, and Devin Ogden; two sisters, Mary-Lou (Walt) Martin of Humboldt, Joan Engebretson of Osage, sister-in-law, Alta Mae Engebretson of Springfield, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Merlin Engebretson; two sisters, Edith Dolson and Edna Wieland; two brothers-in-law, Garland Dolson and Fred Wieland Jr.
