OSAGE, IOWA — Marold L. Weaverling, age 68, of Osage, died suddenly on Friday, July 2, 2004, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Osage with the Rev. Duane LaCock and the Rev. Dennis Hanson officiating. Interment will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage and will continue one hour before services at the church on Wednesday
Marold was born July 11, 1935, at Osage, the son of Perry and Anna (Popp) Weaverling. He graduated from Osage High School. Marold was employed in the grocery business in Osage his entire working career. He was devoted to his children and grandchildren and enjoyed watching them grow up. He was an avid sports fan for all of his life, and enjoyed attending grandchildren’s ballgames.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Weaverling of Osage; a daughter, Elizabeth Flatness and her husband, Lynn, of Osage; two sons, Jeffrey Weaverling and his wife, Wendy, of Missoula, Mont., Kenneth Weaverling of Minneapolis, Minn., two step-daughters, Teresa Jensen of North Liberty, Yvonne Tourtellott and her husband, Troy, of Osage; one step-son, Jerry Jensen and his wife, Wendy, of Osage; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, John Weaverling and his wife, Cleone, of Osage, Melvin Weaverling of Osage; cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Hazel Betts; two brothers, Loren Weaverling and Donald Weaverling; a sister-in-law, Marianne Weaverling
