OSAGE, IOWA — Meta M. Jensen, 97, of Osage died Monday (Nov. 10, 2003) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Dennis Hanson officiating. Interment will be in the Osage Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage and one hour before services at the church.
Meta was born Sept. 19, 1906, in Floyd County near Colwell, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Tina (Kohlman) Tjaden.
She was united in marriage to Reimar C. Jensen on Feb. 14, 1935. They farmed north of Charles City until 1945, when they purchased a farm southwest of Osage. They lived there until moving to Osage in 1981. Reimar died in 1993. Meta lived in her own home until October of 2002. She then lived at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. Meta worked at the Charles City Country Club and at various restaurants in Charles City and was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
She is survived by one sister-in-law, Marian Tjaden of Charles City; a brother-in-law, Sidney Jensen of Elveto, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reimar Jensen; her parents; one sister; and five brothers.
