ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Eugene Ervin Schulze, 79, of rural St. Ansgar, died Saturday (Oct. 11, 2003) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Toeterville, Iowa, with the Rev. Dr. Elaine Siemsen officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter Cemetery in Toeterville.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service time on Thursday at the church.
Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.
Eugene was born the son of Ervin and Martha (Hofland) Schulze on June 26, 1924, in Union Township, Mitchell County, Iowa. He attended schools in Mitchell County.
He farmed his entire life. Eugene was an avid fisherman.
He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Toeterville and remained a faithful lifelong member.
He married Evelyn Qualley of Lake Mills, Iowa, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, on Sept. 1, 1968.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Eugene is survived by a sister, Arlene Anderson, of St. Ansgar; a niece, Connie Rosenberg, of St. Ansgar; a nephew, Steve Anderson, of Story City; three great-nephews and two great-nieces; one uncle, Gene Hofland of St. Ansgar.
