OSAGE, IOWA — Ethel B. Hoven, 87, died Tuesday (April 29, 2003) at her home in Osage.

Ethel was born March 14, 1916, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Einar and Agnes (Amundson) Elster. She married the Rev. Obert Hoven on June 3, 1944, in Minneapolis. Ethel supported her husband in ministry, in Lily, S.D.; Martel, Wis.; Ridgeway; Osage, and Badger.

She returned to Osage following the death of her husband.

Ethel was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and a volunteer at the Faith Lutheran Home.

She was an honorary board member of Opportunity Village in Clear Lake.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a..m. Friday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage with the Rev. Dennis Hanson and the Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Interment will be at 3:30 p.m. on Friday at the Blossom Hill Cemetery in Badger.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane Haisten of Perry, Fla. and her children, Jamie and Joshua ; and Sharon Schlick and her husband, Jerry, of Perry, Fla.; two sons, Michael Hoven and his wife, Betty, of Marion and their children, Shannon and Amanda; and Philip Hoven and wife, Susan, of Waterloo and their children, Kendra and Christopher; two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Chelsea.

She was preceded by her parents; husband, the Rev. Obert Hoven; and two brothers.
