Hila May Judas, age 79, of Mankato, Minnesota, died on Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at the Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, May 4, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato, Minnesota. Reverend Mary Iverson officiated. Interment was in the Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato. Memorials may be given to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
She was born in Mitchell County, Iowa, on September 15, 1922, to Clifford and Edna (Fehling) Stickney. She attended school in Osage.
Hila was united in marriage to Loren G. Judas on December 4, 1942 in San Diego, California. She traveled with her husband during his navy duties throughout the Asiatic countries and resided in the Philippines for two years. She also lived in the Midway Islands for one and one-half years.
Hila was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, active in women’s circle, taught Sunday School and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Food Shelf. She was an auxiliary member of the VFW Post 950 in Mankato.
Preceding Hila in death were her husband; a daughter; a sister; and a brother.
Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Stansfield and husband, David, Jr. of Watertown, Wisconsin; a son, Jeffrey Judas and his partner, Steven Meyer of Seattle, Washington; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Mankato Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
