OSAGE, IOWA --Doris W. Brandau, 87, of Osage, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. Memorial Services will be 11 a.m., today, Monday, December 2, 2002, at Eden Presbyterian Church, 3105 Glass Ave. rural Rudd, with Rev John Bates officiating. Interment will be in Eden Presbyterian Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends was held Sunday at the Champion - Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage

Doris was born July 2, 1915, to Hattie Muller and William Bortz and graduated from Rudd High School in 1933. She was married to Chester Brandau Feb. 18, 1938, at her family farm. They made their home north of Rudd. After spending many winters in Harlingen, Texas they retired in Osage. She was the first resident at Evergreen Apartments and then moved to Faith Lutheran Home. She was a member of Eden Presbyterian Church.

Living family members include daughter; Lavon (Mel) Johansen of Harlingen, Texas; sons, Loren (Sue) Brandau of Osage, Max (Karen) Brandau of Nora Springs; daughter-in-law, Linda Brandau of Nora Springs; nine grandchildren, Christine (Tony) Ximens of Raymondville,Texas, Melinda (Abel) Almendarez of Harlingen, Texas, Curtis (Cheryl) Brandau of Rudd, Jerry (Lisa) Brandau of Ames, Scott (Vicki) Brandau of Osage, Justin Brandau of Bloomington, Minn., Dawn Brandau of Ames, Kathie (Tim) Blake of Osage and Teresa Brandau of Mason City and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chester in 1991, son Harlan in 1999, sister Tillie Schmidt, and brother Alvin Bortz.

Champion - Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage is in charge of arrangements.
