Mrs Evvie Jeffries Called
By Death At Age of 59 Years.

Died Last Thursday Evening
Funeral Held Sunday Afternoon

Mrs. George Jeffries' passing brought sorrow to the hearts of not only her loved ones, but a host of friends, who loved and admired her for her splendid Christian character. Only a short time ago she attended the R. N. A. convention in Riceville, and no one enjoyed the fellowship of that gathering more than she did.

Her duties as wife and also as the mother of a large family, were all performed with the same kindly spirit of devotion that characterized her whole life.

Evvie Elizabeth Wiseman was the daughter of Harvey and Polly Wiseman and was born on March 13, 1868, in London, Minn., and died at her home in Osage, Ia. on June 17, 1927, at the age of 59 years. When still a child she came with her parents to Mitchell county, which continued to be her home.

Dec. 17, 1884, she was united in marriage to George Jeffries and they began housekeeping on the farm in Rock Township. Here they lived until nineteen years ago, when they moved to Osage.

To this union twelve children were born, eleven of whom survive, one daughter, Evvie, and Mr. Jeffries having preceded her in death.

Those remain to mourn their great loss are Mrs. Mable Schultz, Mrs. Blance Carter, Frank and Lloyd, living near Osage; Peter of Nora Springs, Mrs. Rhoda Sweeny and Mrs. Esther Langsdale of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Grace McCoy of San Diego, Calif., Mrs Ellen Seibert of Detroit, Mich., and George and Hattie at home.
Besides these she leaves a sister, Mrs. Lillie Crandall, and a brother, Dan Wiseman, both of Austin, Minn. and thirty grandchildren to mourn her departure.

The funeral was held Saturday afternoon from the M.E. church with the Rev. E. B. Frye in charge, and burial was in Osage cemetery.
