Charles City, IowaHelen Berdene Webster was born October 26, 1916, in Mitchell County, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Harriet (Reynolds) Titus. She graduated from the Osage High School in 1935 and then Hamilton Business College.
On December 4, 1939, she was united in marriage to Keith Webster. Helen worked for the Mitchell County Farm Bureau and Extension Service, Floyd County Farm Bureau and Extension Service and as the City Clerk for the City of Charles City.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church, Floyd County Museum, Charles City Women’s Club, Daughters of the American Revolution and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Helen’s interests included working crossword puzzles, collecting cardinal figurines, politics with special interest in Charles City politics. She was also involved with the Dollars for Scholars program. Friends were always a very important part of her life and she always looked forward to those times together.
Living family members include five nieces, Beverly (Marvin) Brandt of Stewartville, Minnesota, Clarice (“Mike”) Milligan of Charles City, Carol (Don) Ulwelling of Rose Creek, Minnesota, Mary Jane (Doug) Madsen of South Lyon, Michigan, and Barbara (Robert) Sterling, Sr. of Boise, Idaho; two nephews, Edward (Marilyn) Schmidt of Stevensville, Montana, and Jason (Andrea) Webster of Charles City, a brother-in-law, Ray (Lois) Webster of Charles City; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1992; a sister, Allene Schmidt; a nephew, David Webster; two brothers-in-law, Lawrence Schmidt and Donald Webster.
