MCINTIRE, IOWA - Russell T. Willis, 83, of McIntire died Wednesday (Nov. 19, 2008) at his home in McIntire from an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Methodist Church in Riceville, with burial in Wayne Cemetery in McIntire.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday at the Conway Funeral Home in Riceville and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Russell Theodore Willis was born on June 6, 1925, in Wesley, the son of Jeramiah and Lillian (Harms) Willis.

He was united in marriage to Gladys Mary Schlampp on Aug. 24, 1962, at the Methodist Church in Spring Valley, Minn. They were married 46 years. He was a farmer for many years, retiring in 1986. He was a devoted loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

Russell is survived by his wife, Gladys of McIntire; eight daughters: Carol Schlampp of McIntire, Cheryl Schlampp of McIntire, Connie (Tom) Schneider of Taopi, Minn., Lillian (Mark) Sorenson of Rose Creek, Minn., Louise (Ron) Schneider of McIntire, Linda (Gary) Schneider of Osage, Connie (Joe) Smith of Stacyville and Laura Willis of McIntire; 13 grandchildren; one sister, Rosaline Townsend of Waterloo; one brother, Jerald (Shirley) Willis of Waverly; a sister-in-law, Mary Willis of Waterloo; also many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeramiah and Lillian Willis; and two brothers: Vernon Willis and Mervyn Willis.
