ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Lloyd W. Kroneman, age 93, formerly of Carpenter, Mitchell county, Iowa, died on Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar, Mitchell county, Iowa.
Funeral service were held on October 24, 2008 at the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Robert Porisch and the Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Burial was in the First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.
Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar was in charge of arrangements -- phone 641-713-4920.
Lloyd was born on October 7, 1915, in Rock Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, to Paul and Ida (Dieterich) Kroneman. He married Ruth Marjorie Halvorson on March 3, 1940. They farmed most of their working years in Otranto Township where Lloyd combined his vocation and his advocation refining his registered "Black Oak" Holstein dairy herd.
They retired from farm life moving to Carpenter in the early 1980's. Throughout their lives they loved to travel. Following retirement, they enjoyed a relaxed lifestyle that included winters in Florida.
In later years, when travel was no longer possible, Lloyd enjoyed fishing, flower gardening, whittling, his family and nice weather evenings spent sitting outside visiting with his neighbors.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife Ruth in 1986; and by two brothers, Harvey and Herbert.
He is survived by two daughters, Diane (Ed) Collier of St. Ansgar, and Joann (Frank) Helfter of Osage; by six grandchildren; by eight great-grandchildren; by a brother, Elmer of St. Ansgar; and by an aunt, Frieda Feldt of Osage.
