Louis Sheldon Died Monday
at His Home
At Advanced AgeFuneral services for Louis P. Sheldon, 89, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Champion funeral home with the Rev. Orville Mellquist, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was made in the Osage Cemetery. Mrs. Charles kathan was solist at the service.
Mr. Sheldon died at his home in Osage, Monday, May 16, [1949].
Louis Phillip Sheldon was born at Woodstock, Ill., to ira and Helen Lezotte Sheldon, coming with his parents to Iowa in a covered wagon at the age of five years. he lived all his life in Osage except for two years in Waterloo.
He was married to Bertha M. Everson at Osage in 1886 and four children were born to this union. Mr. Sheldon engaged in well drilling in the early part of his married life, later moving to a farm nine miles east of Osage. They retired to Osage in November, 1935.
Mr. Sheldon suffered a fractured hip last July and had been bedfast since.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter Mrs. G. E. Dagget of Waterloo; and three sons, lloyd of Seattle, Wash. Ralph of Plainfield, and Roy of Bartsow, Calif.
