Mrs. Emilie Anna Emma Lydia Ackerman, formerly of Toeterville, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, at her home in Albert, Kansas, leaving a little baby boy eight days old aside from other devoted relatives and friends.
Mrs. Ackerman was the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. J. Lehmann, who formerly resided at Toeterville where her father was pastor of the Lutheran church from November 1920 to 1926.
She was born March 29, 1909 in Helena, Johnson County, Nebraska. and April 12, 1909 was baptized. Her short life was especially noted for her deep spirituality, and the hymns and Bible verses that she had learned were a great comfort to her in her last illness. She was educated in the church and public schoold wherever her parents chanced to be located.
In 1925 she moved with her parents to Otis. Kan. and on June 23, 1927 was united in marriage with Anton Ackerman of Albert Kan., who with her parents and six brothers survive; Alvin and Arthur Lehman of Ahtol, Kan.; John of Gaylord, Kan., Walter, Martin and Arnold and one sister, Hilda Lehman of Otis, Kan. Her father preached her funeral sermon. A strange incident happened when she died -- two clocks in her home stopped when she died.
