Alda Toye, 80, of Rock Island, Illinois, died on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, West, Rock Island.

A Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111 First Street A, Moline, Illinois. Inurnment will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island.

Alda was born November 27, 1927 in Mitchell County, Iowa, the daughter of George and Ruth Herron Wilson. She married Adolph Toye on February 8, 1947 in Osage, Iowa. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1998.

Alda was employed at Rock Island Arsenal. She was a member of the VFW Velie Auxiliary, Moline.

Alda enjoyed gardening and maintaining her yard, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.

Alda is survived by her sons, Michael Toye of Moline and David Toye of Rock Island; grandchildren, Michele (John) Rudi, Lori (Scott) McAdams, Robert (Crystal) Toye and Abbey Toye; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Dora Eastman of McIntire, Iowa and Joan (George) Edwards of Hot Spring Village, Arkansas; brother, Robert Wilson of St. Ansgar, Iowa and Donald Wilson of Osage, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by twin sons Terrence and Thomas Toye, a brother Richard and a sister Shirley.
