Claire H. Groth, age 86, of Minnetonka, Minnesota, died on Thursday, November 9, 2006.
He was born Claire Holland Groth, in St. Ansgar, Iowa, on April 30, 1920, to Anton Conrad and Ida Bertine (Gunderson) Groth.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie (nee Norby); by his parents, and by five brothers: Assor "Conrad" Groth, Albin Irving Groth, Albin James Bernard Groth, Gerhard Gunderson Groth, and Norris Selvin Groth.
Claire is survived by his children: Linda, Mary (Mike) Heebink, Dennis (Lisa), Barbara Eidahl, Sandra (Darrell) Grant; by a sister, Ardella Ilene Warrington of St. Ansgar, Iowa; by 10 grandchildren; and by nieces and nephews.
Claire was a 37 year employee of E-M. Mfg Co. He was a member of Hallinglag of America, Solarlag, Vesterheim, and NAHA. Claire will be remembered for his iris gardens, work on Norwegian genealogy, his love of nature and birds, and an avid fisherman in the Crosslake area for over 50 years.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at 11 AM, at Oak Knoll Lutheran Church, 600 Hopkins Crossroad, Minnetonka.
A visitation was held on Monday from 4-7 PM at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E. Wayzata Blvd, Wayzata.
There was a private interment at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. David Lee Funeral Home, Wayzata, Minnesota -- 952-473-5577.
