Vivian M. Mork, age 94, of New Haven, Mitchell County, Iowa, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2008, at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 7, 2008, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Haven, with Rev. Ray E. Atwood officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in New Haven.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, where there will be a rosary at 5:00 p.m. and a scripture wake service at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church.
Vivian was born in New Haven, Iowa, to Julius and Nellie (Loftus) Brunner on July 20, 1913. She graduated from Mount Mercy in Cedar Rapids in 1932. In 1934, she married Robert E. Mork in New Haven. She was a life long member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Haven. Vivian worked at various places over the years, including St. Mary's School in New Haven, the Marr Knitting Mill and Faith Home. She for many years was a parts runner for her husband's garage service.
Vivian is survived by two sons, Gary (Marilyn) Mork of Mitchell, Robert (Carolyn) Mork of Osage; two daughters, Nadine Mork of New Haven, Susan Schwab of Osage; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Vivian in death were her parents; her husband, Robert in 1985; her brothers, Vernon and Duane; and a daughter-in-law, Violet Mork.
