Mrs. Larry (Karen G.) Fox, age 69, of rural Riceville, died Tuesday, February 26, 2008, peacefully on her birthday at her home near Riceville.
She was born February 26, 1939 in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of Emil Klaehn and Edith (Lindell) Klaehn Gleason and later step-father Charlie Gleason. Karen graduated from Osage High School in 1957, and then from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, MN, as a Registered Nurse. She was employed at the Mitchell County Hospital in Osage. Karen was united in marriage to Larry Fox on February 4, 1961, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage. Karen was a CASA Volunteer and enjoyed over 5 years of sobriety. She was a mother and homemaker. Karen enjoyed reading, spending time with her children and her much loved grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville with Rev. Ray E. Atwood officiating. Burial was at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in New Haven. Visitation was held Friday February 29, 2008, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and continued one hour before services at the church on Saturday.
She is survived by: Her husband, Larry Fox of Riceville; a daughter, Jennifer Fox of Eden Prairie, MN; 3 sons, Douglas Fox of Austin, MN, David (Kristy) Fox of Eden Prairie, MN and their children, Alexander and Kathryn Jeffrey Fox of Houston, Texas; 1 sister, Janice (Fred) Sorensen of Omaha, NE.
She was preceded in death by: her mother, father, and step-father.
