April 26, 1875 -- March 3, 1963.

Funeral services for Henry E. Hanson, 87, were held Wednesday afternoon at the First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar, Iowa; the Rev. R.N. Christensen, associate pastor of Our Savior's Lutheran in Osage, Iowa, officiated. Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery in St. Ansgar, Iowa.

Mr. Hanson died Sunday at Mitchell County Memorial hospital, where he had been for some time.

Henry E. Hanson was born April 26, 1875 on the Rust homestead north of St. Ansgar, the oldest son of Mr. & Mrs. Colburn Hanson. He was baptized and confirmed by the Rev. Johann Olson and attended the rural Clyde school. He later took a business course at the St. Ansgar seminary.

He was married to Ida Sefert on October 15, 1902 at the Carpenter Lutheran church.

Henry was a lifelong member of the St. Ansgar First Lutheran church and always lived in this vicinity, with the exception of four years when he and his family lived near Enderlin, North Dakota.

Mr. Hanson is survived by one son, Cyrus; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; and one sister, Mrs. Blanche Hansen of St. Ansgar, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, four brothers and one grandson.
