ANTON IVERSON DIED
WEDNESDAY EVENING
AFTER LONG ILLNESSAnton Iverson, 77, passed away at his home last night, after an illness of many months. While not confined to his bed all of the time his strength had been gradually failing.
Mr. Iverson was born in Norway, and came to this country when a young lad. For many years he worked and operated his own blacksmith shop here, and made both a personal and financial success of his efforts. He had been a resident of Osage for forty-nine years. Since the death of his wife some years ago his only child, Ingwald Iverson, and wife have lived in his home and cared for him during his long illness.
Funeral services will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran church Saturday afternoon, April 10 at 2 o'clock with the Rev. A. M. Hegre, pastor, officiating. Burial will be made in the Osage city cemetery.

#2 - NOTES:Anton Iverson was born February 1860 at Norway to Guri Haugen and Iver Iverson.
Found emigration dates of 1878-1880 to Mitchell Co, Iowa.Anton married Mathea Docken (December 1865-December 26, 1932) in 1886 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
The couple had 1 son, Ingvald Theodore (March 27, 1890-August 7, 1955). Anton was a blacksmith in the Meroa area and later in Osage, Iowa.From the 1977 booklet "Meroa" written by Gertrude Crowell:
Anton Iverson, a blacksmith in the 1890s, built a shop across the road from the general store in the heart of Meroa, Iowa, and his anvil was heard for some distance. Horseshoeing was his business, especially in the winter. He and his wife, Mattie and son Ingvald lived in a house in the village until the early 1900s when they moved to Osage, having bought a shop there.Mitchell County Press Newspaper accounts:

1900: Anton Iverson 40, Matia Iverson 34, Ingvald F Iverson 10.Found in the 1905 - 1930 censuses at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa:
1910: Author Iverson 50, Mattie Iverson 43, Ingwall Iverson 20.
1915: Anton Iverson age 54.
1920: Autin Ivers* 59, Mattie Ivers* 52.
1925: Anton Iverson 64, Mattie Iverson 57.
1930: Anton Iverson 70, Mattie Iverson 62.He died April 7, 1937 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Osage Cemetery, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa.
