Jean Staff, 91, of Grafton, Worth County, Iowa, died on October 29, 2007, at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood, Iowa.

Jean Winnor Staff was born March 26, l916 in rural Cedar Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, to John and Clara Winnor Staff.

He was confirmed at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Iowa. Jean graduated from Osage High School, Osage, Iowa in 1935. Jean married Mildred Gordon on Dec. 16, 1945 at the St. Ansgar parsonage. The couple farmed in Osage on the family farm, then moved to a farm near Carpenter in 1949. Jean and Mildred moved to their farm near Grafton in 1950. Jean retired from farming and later moved to Grafton in l980.

Jean is preceded in death by his parents, and by all of his siblings: Hans, Lloyd, Mena and Olaf.

He is survived by his wife Mildred; by his sons, Keith (Charlene) Staff, Glen (Judy) Staff; by a daughter, Lois Staff; by two grandsons, Jeremy and Brian; by four great-granddaughters: Destiny, Azlyn, Kaitlyn, and Julia; and by a sister-in-law, Hildegard Staff.

Funeral services were held on Friday, November 2, 2007 at the Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, Iowa, with Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Burial was in Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood, Iowa.

The Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home is assisting the Staff family with the arrangements.
