Sept. 27, 1900BEMENT
Edna Pansy Bement was born in Osage, August 17, 1893 and died in the town of her birth September 19, 1900; aged 7 years 1 month, and 2 days.
She was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Bement. Edna was an unusally bright little child and a great favorite with her schoolmates, and neighbors of the family.
The cause of her death was that almost always fatal disease, spinal meningitis, which attacked her little system, but a short time before her childlike spirit was wafted beyond the dark river never more to return.
On Friday last Rev. Coon preached a funeral service consoling the bereaved family as best he could that their little one would await the reunion of loved ones in that land that is brighter than day and unfraught with earthly sorrow.
The remains were interred in the Osage cemetery, where another grave has closed over the form of childlike innocence and purity.
