During the World war he was one of Uncle Sam’s sturdy men. He was married in 1923 to Miss Katie Schneider of Adams, Minn.

Besides his widow, he is survived by four small daughters, his father, one brother, Valentine, and one sister, Loretta.

The funeral for this fine young man took place Tuesday morning, services being conducted by Father Herbers in Visitation church here. Interment was made in Visitation cemetery. The services at the grave were conducted by Father Herbers, and following that impressive service members of hale Penney Fuller Post American Legion, fired volleys over the grave and sounded “taps”. The services were attended by a large number of relatives and friends, including many from distant points.

Mr. Wagner was one of the most popular young men who has ever resided in this community. He was possessed of a cheery disposition and was regarded highly by all for his honesty and integrity in all business transactions. Friends by the hundreds join with his wife and children, father and other relatives in mourning his death and revering his memory.
