Clara M. Adams, 82, of Stacyville died on September 21, 1985 at her home from an apparent heart attack. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 24 at 10:30 a.m. at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with Father Carl Manternach officiating.

Clara Margaret Thome was born on July 16, 1903 at Stacyville, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Hagedorn Thome.

She was married to Ernest P. Adams on September 16, 1925 at Minneapolis, Minnesota. They established their home at Stacyville for 60 years. She was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church, St. Rita’s Court #819 of the Women’s Catholic Order of Foresters and was financial secretary of St. Rita’s for 54 years. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Christian Mothers.

She is survived by her children: Walter Adams, Stacyville; Ted Adams, Rochester, Mn.; Mrs. Dale (Theresa) Mauer, Stacyville; Mrs. Larry (Louise) Walk, Little Cedar, Ia. and Mrs. Kenneth (Veronica) Koenigs, Stacyville; sisters, Mrs. Al (Lucy) Adams, Chicago, Il.; and sister-in-law, Mrs. Arthur (Sadie) Adams, Waterloo, Ia.; 24 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father in 1931 and her mother in 1956; her husband in 1975 and her son, Eugene in 1985, sister, Rose Cooklock and brothers, William Thome, Carl Thome and Arthur Thome.
