Funeral services for John A. Christiansen were held on Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, 3269 Foothill Avenue, Osage.
Burial will be in the Rock Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery.
John died on Saturday, August 11, 2007, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
John is survived by his four children and their families.
The Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage was in charge of arrangements.

OSAGE, IOWA — John A. Christiansen, 100, of Osage, died Saturday (Aug. 11, 2007) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
John was born May 5, 1907, at his home in Rock Falls, the son of Hans and Augusta (Wallert) Christiansen. At age 5, the family moved to Mitchell County. John attended Country School No. 5. After school, he worked on the family farm and in 1972, he moved to Osage.
John married Marian A. Lewis on Oct. 13, 1942, at Rock Creek Lutheran Church. They farmed on the family farm in rural Nora Springs.
John enjoyed playing baseball with his five brothers and bowling in local leagues. Later, he enjoyed golfing. John was one of the original 4-H members of Osage and was the oldest surviving member. He was a member of the Senior Bowlers and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1995 at the age of 88.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, 3269 Foothill Ave., Osage, with the Rev. R. Dawson Tornes officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Creek Cemetery.
Visitation is from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage and will continue one hour before services at the church.
John is survived by his four children: two sons, Gordon (Jean) Matthews of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jon (Becky) Christiansen of Nora Springs; two daughters, Wanda Christensen of Minneapolis, Minn., and Carole (Richard) Weber of Woodridge, Ill.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marian Christiansen; one grandson, Steven Matthews; and five brothers, Al, Carl, Herb, Larry and Glen Christiansen.
